About us

The website Good Practices of the Global Environment Facility (GEF) Small Grants Programme (SGP) in Bulgaria was developed under the project “Promoting GEF SGP Bulgaria Good Practices”, implemented by the Association for Culture and Tourism “Authentic Bulgaria”.  The activities included description of 35 SGP co-financed projects that we completed or in advanced stage of development as well as another 10 good practices developing successfully without GEF SGP support, but in SGP focal areas. Presentation of the good practices took place during the event “Workshop on Good EcoPractices in the GEF SGP Focal Areas in Bulgaria”.  It took place on July 9, 2010 in front of the monument “1300 years of Bulgaria”, National Palace of Culture. The exhibition was opened by the Deputy Minister of Environment and Waters, Mrs. Ivelina Vasileva. It involved representatives of most of the 35 described projects as well as from the SGP co-financed less advanced projects. The only large producer of organic vegetables in Bulgaria – GIMEL Ltd presented its products as well. The event included tasting of diverse organic foods – young cheese, sheep yogurt from Momchilovsti village from Rhodopi Mountains, honey, brined sheep cheese, spiced sheep cheese in olive oil, organic beans dishes and organic pickles. The distinguished good practices received diplomas and small presents from GEF SGP.
